Rhythmic Empowerment workshop by Rahul Bader, British Columbia, CA
Rahul Bader, drum circle facilitator and composer, has been studying
drums and rhythm for over 10 years in Africa, India and Canada, and has completed bachelor's in Music, and a drum
circle facilitators training course in Vancouver with world renowned facilitation teacher Arthur Hull. He teaches rhythm from the ground up, allowing everyone to understand the basics of drumming from hand
technique to listening skills to group dynamic playing.
The workshop will focus on using rhythm to express emotion, freedom and musicality. The workshop will begin with using rhythm in the voice, finding rhythm in the body, and finally moving rhythm into the hands where we will then explore many traditional and contemporary rhythms that allowing everyone's inner musician to come out.
Group games and individual playing will be the emphasis and everyone will walk away with something that can only be called "rhythmic empowerment" -- the feeling of expressing oneself and finding the value in nurturing their musical being."
